Full review

The Camco TastePURE Water Filter is a dedicated inline water filtration accessory designed specifically for RV and camper owners who want cleaner, better tasting water flowing from their freshwater hookups. Built to connect directly to a campground spigot or water source before it reaches your RV's intake hose, this filter targets the common culprits behind off-putting tap water at campgrounds and RV parks: chlorine taste and odor, sediment, and other unwanted particulates that can accumulate in municipal or well water systems. The filter housing is constructed from durable, lightweight plastic that withstands the rigors of travel while remaining easy to pack and store in an outdoor compartment or water bay alongside your hoses and fittings.

Inside the TastePURE filter, a granulated activated carbon (GAC) filtration media works to reduce chlorine taste and smell along with sediment, giving campers noticeably cleaner water for drinking, cooking, and washing dishes without the need for a whole-house filtration system. The inline design means installation is straightforward—simply thread it between your drinking water hose and the campground water source using standard garden hose connections, and water passes through the carbon media before ever entering your RV's plumbing or freshwater tank. This proactive filtration approach helps protect the internal components of your RV water system, including the pump, water heater, and fixtures, from sediment buildup that can shorten their lifespan over time.

Many versions of the Camco TastePURE line include added features such as a protective flexible hose or filter housing designed to prevent kinking, as well as compatibility with standard garden hose threads so it works seamlessly with existing RV water hose setups. The filter is typically rated for a certain number of gallons or a camping season of use, after which the cartridge or entire unit should be replaced to maintain optimal filtration performance. For RVers, campers, and boondockers who prioritize water quality on the road, this filter serves as an affordable, low-maintenance first line of defense, ensuring that water used for cooking, drinking, and daily tasks tastes fresh and remains free of visible sediment throughout every stop on the journey.
